The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is requesting public comments on its Substantial Amendment to the state of Florida’s Federal Fiscal Year 2019 Action Plan to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to include Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding. HUD has allocated $79.7 million in CDBG-CV funding to the state of Florida to help local governments respond to and recover from COVID-19 and the impacts it has caused. Prior to the receipt of CDBG-CV funding from the HUD Office of Community Planning and Development, Florida is required to prepare a formal substantial amendment to the Federal Fiscal Year 2019 Action Plan. DEO is responsible for preparing the Action Plan and soliciting comments from the public regarding the plan and its subsequent amendments. A public hearing will be held on July 28, 2020, to accept public comment on the Small Cities CDBG 2019 Action Plan Substantial Amendment. A seven-day comment period will begin on July 21, 2020, and end on July 28, 2020. By July 21, 2020, a substantial amendment overview summarizing the proposed changes to the 2019 Action Plan, as well as the full-text version of the substantial amendment, will be available for viewing on the DEO website at www.floridajobs.org/CDBG-CV. Written comments on the substantial amendment are encouraged. Written comments may be emailed to cdbg@deo.myflorida.com or mailed to: Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program Caldwell Building 107 E.
