Subject
: The Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir is a critical component of Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) in the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). The project helps avoid harmful lake discharges to the northern estuaries and sends more water south. Water created by CERP projects is required to be reserved or allocated for the protection of fish and wildlife. Therefore, the purpose of this workshop is to discuss the draft rule text for a water reservation, the associated criteria for the “Applicant’s Handbook for Water Use Permit Applications within the South Florida Water Management District,” and supporting technical document, which identifies the water needed for the protection of fish and wildlife.
Preliminary rule text, the associated criteria for the “Applicant’s Handbook for Water Use Permit Applications within the South Florida Water Management District,” the draft supporting technical document, and the workshop agenda are available at https://www.sfwmd.gov/our-work/water-reservations.
