The United States Environmental Protection Agency will be providing funds through the federal BEACH program to test the water quality of Florida coastal beaches for bacterial indicators. This is the funding baseline for the Florida Healthy Beaches Program. Due to State of Florida funding limitations the existing program will be revised. The Department of Health is holding a series of meetings to discuss the anticipated program changes and the list of proposed beaches that will be tested and other program changes.
