Project Description: Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study, SR 9/I-95 from South of
SR 870/Commercial Boulevard to North of Cypress Creek Road, Broward County, Florida
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, will conduct a public hearing regarding the above mentioned project. A PD&E Study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this project is to improve traffic operations and safety along SR 9/I-95 and at the SR 870 Commercial Boulevard and Cypress Creek Road/I-95 interchanges within the study limits.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.
The public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. as an open house. A formal presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a comment period. Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Nadir Rodrigues, PE, FDOT Project Manager, 3400 West Commercial Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before September 4, 2018, will become part of the public hearing record. In the event that the public hearing cannot be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 due to severe weather or other unforeseen conditions, it will be held on the alternate date of August 30, 2018 at the same time and place.
Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within at least 300 feet on either side of the proposed alignment and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
