Summary
The 2006 Legislature passed Senate Bill 1510 which requires the Department to establish minimum child care health and safety licensing standards for family day care homes including, uniform enforcement and disciplinary sanctions, child discipline, and transportation. Senate Bill 1510 also requires the Department to establish minimum standards for uniform enforcement and disciplinary sanctions for large family child care homes.
In addition, training requirements for family day care homes and large family child care homes related to substitutes have been modified and training exemptions have been removed for certain operators, employees and substitutes.
