On July 15, 2020, revisions to the B.E.S.T. Standards for ELA and mathematics were adopted by the State Board of Education. With the adoption of revised standards, course descriptions need to be updated to include the most current standards. The rule amendment will remove the LAFS and MAFS and add the B.E.S.T. Standards to 851 non-ELA and non-mathematics subject area courses. The rule amendment will also adopt 57 revised English Language Arts and 28 mathematics (24 revised and 4 new) course descriptions that include the revised B.E.S.T. Standards.
