Financial Management No. 440672-1-52-01 The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding a public hearing to discuss safety improvements to Magnolia Avenue (State Road (SR) 600/US 92) between Pine Street and Oak Street in Auburndale, FL in Polk County. Project improvements include extending the eastbound and westbound left turn lanes on Magnolia Avenue at the Main Street intersection and closing the median openings at Lime Street and Lemon Street. The proposed project also includes new signs and updated pavement markings. The hearing will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at the City of Auburndale Historic Train Depot, Depot Centennial Park, 119 W. Park Street, Auburndale, FL 33823. The FDOT will hold this hearing to give interested persons the opportunity to view plans and project materials depicting the proposed improvements on Magnolia Avenue. The hearing will begin with an open house at 5:00 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6:00 p.m. followed by a public comment period. Participants may provide their verbal comments after the presentation to all present. Participants may also provide verbal comments directly to a court reporter before and after the formal presentation. Written comments may be submitted at the hearing or sent by mail to David Jones, FDOT District One, 801 North Broadway Avenue, Bartow, FL 33830, or by email to David.Jones@dot.state.fl.us, no later than September 9, 2019. All comments, written and verbal, will become part of the project’s public record.
