The Summer Bridge Program is established within the Department pursuant to HB 5101, which amended s 1008.25, F.S. A Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) student who scores below the 10th percentile on the final administration of the coordinated screening and progress monitoring system (PM3), pursuant to s. 1008.25(9), F.S., is eligible to receive early literacy skill instructional support through the Summer Bridge Program before entering kindergarten to develop emergent literacy knowledge and increase student kindergarten readiness.
