Section 409.912(5), Florida Statutes, mandates the Agency for Health Care Administration, in consultation with the Department of Elder Affairs, to create an “integrated, fixed-payment delivery system for Medicaid recipients who are 60 years of age or older. The Agency for Health Care Administration shall implement the integrated system initially on a pilot basis in two areas of the state”. The Agency for Health Care Administration submitted waiver applications to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on January 26, 2006, in order to obtain Federal approval for implementation of managed, integrated long term care in the Panhandle Pilot Area- Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties; and the Central Florida Pilot Area- Seminole, Orange, Brevard and Osceola Counties. The primary purpose of these meetings is to provide outreach and education to Medicaid beneficiaries. An overview of the proposed program will be provided as well as an opportunity for public comment on a first come - first serve basis.
