Recently, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) developed a proposal to establish a Quail Enhancement Area (QEA) on a portion of Blackwater Wildlife Management Area in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties. Harvest recommendations for the QEA, set forth in this proposal, are designed to compliment habitat management efforts being conducted on this area. Details of the proposal were mailed to individuals who actively quail hunt on Blackwater WMA and their comments were requested. The purpose of this meeting is to present a summary of the responses received and to provide the public with an opportunity to discuss the issue with FWC staff.
