The Florida Department of Transportation, District Seven, in cooperation with Forward Pinellas, is conducting corridor studies of Alternate US 19 (SR 595) from Park Street North to the Pinellas/Pasco County Line. The Study Team has engaged local agencies, elected officials, residents, and members of the traveling public through Project Advisory Group (PAG) meetings, online surveys, an online WikiMapping tool, a series of charrettes, and two Visioning Workshops to create a Vision and develop alternatives for the corridor. You are invited to attend the Alternatives Workshop to learn about the findings and provide your input on the proposed short- and long-term improvements.
The corridor is divided into two (2) study segments. The southern segment begins at Park Street North and ends at Belleair Road. This 11-mile segment traverses through the cities of Largo and Seminole. The northern segment begins at Belleair Road and ends at the Pinellas/Pasco County Line. The 17.9-mile northern segment traverses through the cities of Clearwater, Dunedin, and Tarpon Springs, as well as unincorporated Palm Harbor. At the workshop, the Study Team will present short- and long-term alternatives for improving the Alternate US 19 Corridor. The workshop will be in an open house format with an introductory video available to educate attendees about the project and next steps. All attendees will have opportunity to provide input about the proposed improvements and the study team will be available to answer questions. The purpose of this workshop is to give the community an opportunity to review and comment on the range of options that have been developed in an effort to establish a more walkable, bicycle-friendly, urban environment along Alternate US 19.
