Alafaya Trail (SR 434) Safety Improvement Project from North of Colonial Drive (SR 50) to Strategy Boulevard

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a public information workshop for a safety improvement project along Alafaya Trail (SR 434). The project begins north of Colonial Drive (SR 50) and extends to Strategy Boulevard in Orange County. The improvements will include left turn lane extensions, crosswalk striping, median access restrictions and median closures in multiple locations along the roadway. The purpose of this workshop is to present the proposed design plans for public review and to receive public input. This workshop follows a public hearing that was held on September 13, 2011. The estimated construction start date is in the fall of 2013.
Written comments can be submitted at this workshop or by mail no later than November 26th to Mr. David Dangel, P.E., Public Involvement Coordinator, Inwood Consulting Engineers, 3000 Dovera Drive, Suite 200, Oviedo, Florida 32765. All comments, written and oral, will become part of the project’s public record. This public information workshop was advertised consistent with federal and state requirements and is being conducted consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
