Project Description: District Five Truck Parking Study – Phase 1
The Florida Department of Transportation is conducting a districtwide Truck Parking Study to address the shortage of available truck parking spaces, identify solutions that will support truck drivers and plan for the anticipated need over the next 10 to 20 years. As part of this study, one of the objectives is to identify issues and trends facing truck drivers and other stakeholders; and, to help identify how tractor-trailer truck parking is currently being addressed off of the interstate highway system. The District Five study area includes Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia Counties.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold public hearing concerning the multilane reconstruction of State Road (S.R.) 10 (Nine Mile Road/U.S. 90A) from S.R. 10A (U.S. 90) to County Road (C.R.) 99 (Beulah Road) Tuesday, February 20, 2018, from 5:30 pm. to 6:30 p.m. CST at Smyrna Baptist Church, 7000 Pensacola Boulevard, Pensacola. The hearing will begin with an open house at 5:30 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and public comment period at 6 p.m. The intent of the project is to increase capacity and accommodate bicycle and pedestrian traffic. Improvements include widening the 1.8-mile section of Nine Mile Road from two to four lanes with a grassed median, buffered bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and drainage upgrades. Tower Ridge Road will also be realigned with Nine Mile Road as part of the project.
This hearing is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to review proposed improvements and provide input. Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. Representatives from FDOT will be available to discuss the project, answer questions, and receive comments.
