You are invited to attend and participate in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, public hearing for a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study of US 301 (SR 43) from SR 60 (Adamo Drive) to I-4 in Hillsborough County, Florida, Work Program Item Segment No. 430050-1. This public hearing is being held to allow interested persons the opportunity to provide comments concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The study is considering widening US 301 from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway. The public hearing will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Sheraton Tampa East Hotel, 10221 Princess Palm Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610.
Department representatives will be available at the public hearing beginning at 5:30 p.m. to answer questions and discuss the project informally. Draft project documents and other project related materials will be displayed and a PowerPoint presentation will run continuously during the open house. At 6:30 p.m., FDOT representatives will begin the formal portion of the hearing, which will provide an opportunity for attendees to make formal oral public comments. Following the formal portion of the hearing, the informal open house will resume and continue until 7:30 p.m. A court reporter will be available to receive comments in a one-on-one setting. A petition for a change in the rates of pilotage charged by the licensed state pilots and certified deputy pilots at the Port of Miami has been filed with the Pilotage Rate Review Committee, pursuant to Section 310.151, Florida Statutes and Chapter 61G14, Florida Administrative Code.
The last rate change (increase) granted the Port of Miami was April 1, 2002. The committee intends to consider the following requested rate change (decrease) for the Port of Miami:
The petition requests the following changes:
Draft charge decrease, for passenger vessels only, from $17.433 per foot to $13.075 per foot.
Tonnage charge decrease, for passenger vessels only, from $0.0364 per GRT to $0.0273 per GRT.
All other charges currently in place at the Port of Miami would remain the same, with the exception that any fees based on draft and tonnage shall be subject to a 25% discount when applied to passenger vessels.
The Committee’s site visit to the Port of Miami will occur on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, 9:00 a.m. at 2911 Port Boulevard, Miami, FL 33132.
