    • The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) at Tyndall Air Force Base (Tyndall AFB), will hold a public information meeting for proposed improvements to State Road (S.R.) 30 (U.S. 98/Tyndall Parkway) through Tyndall AFB in Bay County. The proposed improvements are part of a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study regarding S.R. 30 on Tyndall AFB. The PD&E Study will evaluate alternatives that meet the following purpose and need: (1) reduce travel delays on S.R. 30 resulting from gate operations on Tyndall AFB and queuing on S.R. 30; and (2) provide a route for Tyndall AFB vehicles to travel between the support side and the flight line side of the base without the need to exit and re-enter security. Currently, six alternatives are under consideration. The proposed improvements consider a flyover to separate Tyndall traffic from through traffic, vehicular queuing lanes for Tyndall AFB traffic, and consolidation of the Tyndall entrance gates at Illinois Avenue and Tyndall Drive. All alternatives will be on display boards at the public information meeting. The project is currently in the PD&E study phase.
