On April 30, 2020, the Public Employees Relations Commission issued a final order in Case No. MS-2020-008 granting an unopposed emergency petition for variance from Florida Administrative Code Rule 60CC-4.002 filed by Daniel Saunders and United Faculty of Florida. The variance allows the Petitioners to conduct all aspects of a ratification election at Florida International University electronically through May 29, 2020. The Public Employees Relations Commission determined that the Petitioners had demonstrated an emergency existed and that they would suffer a substantial hardship if the variance was not granted. The petition was filed on April 17, 2020, and the notice of receipt of the petition was published on April 20, 2020, on the Commission’s website and in Volume 46, Number 79 F.A.R. No comments were received to the petition.

The State Child Abuse Death Review (CADR) Committee has planned a collaborative webinar meeting. The meeting will focus on ways to reduce preventable child abuse deaths in Florida. The purpose of the existing emergency rule is to prohibit pedestrians from walking upon or accessing the public beach and south parking lot within the District to protect the public health, safety, and welfare.
