Rosalinda Cortez Pegnato, seeking a variance or waiver of Rule 61G1-22.002(1), Florida Administrative Code, which requires that applicants for licensure obtain the diversified interior design experience required by Section 481.209(2), F.S., with a registered interior designer (any state) or registered architect (any state) performing interior design services, unlicensed interior designer (outside of Florida) who has passed the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) or the AID (American Institute of Designers) examination, or unlicensed interior designer (outside of Florida) who would have met the six-year experience grandfather requirement of Section 21, Chapter 88-383, Laws of Florida. Petitioner is also seeking a variance or waiver of Rule 61G1-22.001(1), Florida Adminstrative Code, which requires that the program of professional interior design experience required in Section 481.209(2), F.S., shall include training and experience under the direct supervision of a registered interior designer or registered architect performing interior design services in the following areas of practice: (a) Identifying, researching and creatively solving interior design problems. (b) Performing services including programming, design analysis, space planning and aesthetics. (c) Specialized knowledge of interior construction and supervision, building systems and components, interior fire safety and design for the disabled. (d) Specifying interior equipment, materials and furnishings. (e) Preparing interior drawings, specifications and documents.
