of the issuance of a Notice regarding the Petition for Variance or Waiver for Glades County, filed on April 22, 2020. The Notice of Petition for Variance or Waiver was published in Volume 46, No. 83, of the April 28, 2020, Florida Administrative Register. The Petitioner sought a variance or waiver of Rule 60FF-5.002(4), F.A.C., regarding the requirement that the grant application package be postmarked or delivered by hand or email on or before April 1. The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on May 13, 2020. The Boards Order, filed on May 26, 2020, grants the Petition for variance or waiver, finding that the purpose of the underlying statute, 365.173(2)(g), F.S., has been achieved by the tardy submission of the additional amount of maintenance agreement.

On June 1, 2020, the Public Employees Relations Commission issued a final order in Case No. MS-2020-016 granting an unopposed emergency petition for variance from Florida Administrative Code Rule 60CC-4.002 filed by Patrick Luck and United Faculty of Florida. The variance allows the Petitioners to conduct all aspects of a ratification election electronically through July 6, 2020. The Public Employees Relations Commission determined that the Petitioners had demonstrated an emergency existed and that they would suffer a substantial hardship if the variance was not granted. The petition was filed on May 20, 2020, and the notice of receipt of the petition was published on May 21, 2020, on the Commission’s website and in Volume 46, Number 100 F.A.R. No comments were received to the petition.
