Project Description: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites all persons to attend a public meeting regarding proposed plans to improve safety and operations at the Harbor City Boulevard and Pineda Causeway intersection. The purpose of the project is to improve operations by signalizing the intersection of U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) and S.R. 404 eastbound ramps as well as widening to construct a 12-foot-wide travel lane from the S.R. 404 eastbound off ramp to the S.R. 404 overpass. Adding the travel lane at this location will help eliminate the merging actions from drivers coming off the S.R. 404 westbound ramp to U.S. 1, and help reduce potential crash points. Improvements also include widening and constructing dual right turn lanes at the S.R. 404 eastbound off ramp to U.S. 1.
The public meeting will be Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Pineda Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 5650 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, Florida 32940. The meeting will be an informational open house with a presentation on a continuous loop running throughout the meeting. Project information will be on display, and project representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons wishing to express their concerns relative to FDOT compliance with Title VI may do so by contacting Jennifer Smith, FDOT District Five Title VI Coordinator at jennifer.smith2@dot.state.fl.us.
