- Project Information: This Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) public meeting is being held to provide interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of this study is to widen I-10 from four to six lanes from east of the Alabama State line to west of U.S. 29 and reconstruct the interchanges at Nine Mile and Pine Forest Roads as Diverging Diamond Interchanges.
Meeting Information: This study is being developed concurrently with a separate study for the Beulah Road (County Road 99) Interchange PD&E Study (FPID 433113-1-22-01). This public meeting will focus on the limits of analysis from west of the Pensacola Weigh Station to west of U.S. 29. There will be no formal presentation. Maps, drawings and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, will host a Public Meeting for the upcoming full closures at Pratt Whitney Road and SW 96th Street that are part of the Kanner Highway/SR 76 widening project from south of CR 711/Pratt Whitney Road to SW Jack James Drive in Martin County. Scheduled to occur the week of March 16, 2020, Pratt Whitney Road and SW 96th Street will undergo a two-part full closure. These full closures are occurring to facilitate roadway reconstruction.
The details are as follows:
• Part One Full Closure: Pratt Whitney Road will be closed in both directions just east of Kanner Highway for approximately 48 hours, weather permitting. During this time, traffic should detour via Bridge Road and Kanner Highway.
• Part Two Full Closure: SW 96th Street will be closed in both directions just west of Kanner Highway for approximately 48 hours, weather permitting. During this time, traffic should detour via SW 48th Avenue/Citrus Boulevard to Martin Highway to High Meadow Avenue to I-95 to Kanner Highway, or vice versa.
Traffic along Kanner Highway will not be impacted. Specific dates will be available closer to when this work will occur. Motorist will be notified in advance via message boards. Detour signage will be in place along the detour routes.
Construction began on April 22, 2019 and is estimated to be completed in summer 2021. The estimated construction cost is $12,892,088.57.
This public information meeting will have an informal format. No formal presentation will be made. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one.
