This project in the City of Lauderdale Lakes will address safety concerns by constructing a 10-foot shared-use path along the east side of SR 7/US 441 within the project limits. A pedestrian safety barrier will be installed along the existing median to discourage mid-block pedestrian crossings. Improvements will also include a new northbound overhead sign, miscellaneous signage, paving, restriping and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Construction begins in July 2019 and is estimated to be completed in Winter 2020. The estimated construction cost is $1.4 million.
During the informal open house, attendees will have the opportunity to review roadway improvements, construction plans and traffic control plans. FDOT staff and consultant staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

- Agency for Persons with Disabilities
- The Agency for Persons with Disabilities, in conjunction with the Agency for Health Care Administration, has been directed to develop a plan to redesign the waiver program and submit the plan to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives for consideration and ultimate Legislative approval. At a minimum, the plan must include the following elements:
(a) Budget predictability – budget recommendations must include specific steps to restrict spending to budgeted amounts based on alternatives to the iBudget and four-tiered Medicaid waiver models
(b) Services – the agency shall identify core services that are essential to provide for client health and safety and recommend elimination of coverage for other services that are not affordable based on available resources
(c) Flexibility – the redesign shall be responsive to individual needs and to the extent possible encourage client control over allocated resources for their needs
(d) Support coordination services – the plan shall modify the manner of providing support coordination services to improve management of service utilization and increase accountability and responsiveness to agency priorities
To that end, this meeting is intended to provide the public with an opportunity to offer the Agency comments, ideas, and suggestions on the above elements. Additional comments may be submitted by July 24 at 5 p.m. to apd.info@apdcares.org .
