1A-32. Archaeological Research |
1(1) A written notification to the Division by accredited institutions requesting approval for archaeological research according to Section 19267.12(2), F.S., 21must be submitted prior to scheduled project initiation.
29The notification shall contain all of the following items:
38(a) Name and address of the requesting institution;
46(b) Date of notification;
50(c) Specific location(s) of the proposed research area, including site means and numbers where applicable;
65(d) Aims, character, and purpose of the proposed research (include a clear and concise research design);
81(e) Specific threats or endangerment of archaeological sites within the proposed project area (if applicable);
96(f) Name of the individual in direct charge of the field research;
108(g) Total number of project personnel;
114(h) Initiation and termination dates of the research;
122(i) Proposed publication source and date the completed manuscript;
131(j) Total research funds to be expended on the project; and,
142(k) Signature of the requesting official.
148(2) The Division will respond to the requesting accredited institution within 15 days after receipt of the written notification. The Division’s response will consist of (a) approval, or (b) disapproval, or (c) a request for information clarification. In the event the Division requests clarification of one or more items in the written notification, the 15 day response obligation will take effect upon receipt of the additional information by the Division.
