62-303.352. Nutrients in Freshwater Lakes

Effective on Wednesday, February 17, 2016
  • 1(1) Lakes or lake segments shall be included on the Planning List for nutrients if:

    16(a) 17The numeric interpretation of the narrative nutrient criterion established in subsection 2862-302.531(2), 29F.A.C., is exceeded for any parameter;

    35(b) Algal mats or blooms are present in sufficient quantities to pose a nuisance or hinder reproduction of a threatened or endangered species; or

    59(c) There is a statistically significant increasing trend in the annual geometric means at the 95 percent confidence level in TN, TP, or chlorophyll 83a 84over the planning period using a Mann’s one-sided, upper-tail test for trend, as described in Nonparametric Statistical Methods by M. Hollander and D. Wolfe (1999 ed.), pages 376 and 724, which were incorporated by reference in Rule 12162-303.351, 122F.A.C.

    123(d) There are insufficient data to calculate the long-term geometric mean for color, alkalinity or specific conductance for a lake, the lake shall be included on the Planning List if the annual geometric mean chlorophyll 158a 159value is greater than 20 ug/L in at least one year.

    170(2) Color, alkalinity, and specific conductance data used to establish the applicable lake criteria are subject to the data sufficiency requirements in sub-subparagraph 62.302.531(2)(b)1.c., F.A.C.
