62-560.610. Best Available Technology for Achieving Compliance with a Maximum Contaminant Level or Maximum Residual Disinfectant Level

  • 1(1) The technologies listed in Table 1 are Best Available Technology for achieving compliance with the maximum contaminant levels for inorganic contaminants listed in subsection 2662-550.310(1), 27F.A.C.

    28(2) Best Available Technology for achieving compliance with the maximum residual disinfectant levels listed in subsection 4462-550.310(2), 45F.A.C., is control of treatment processes to reduce disinfectant demand or control of disinfection treatment processes to reduce disinfectant levels.

    65(3) The Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, pursuant to section 1412 of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act, hereby identifies the following as the best technology, treatment techniques, or other means available for achieving compliance with the maximum contaminant levels for bromate and chlorite identified in 11340 C.F.R. §141.64(a) 116(which is incorporated in subparagraph 12162-550.310(3)(a)1., 122F.A.C.):

    488(7) The technologies l492isted in Table 3 are Best Available Technology for achieving compliance with the maximum contaminant levels for organic contaminants listed in subsection 51462-550.310(4), 515F.A.C.

    516(8) Best Available Technology for achieving compliance with the maximum contaminant level for microbiological contaminants listed in subsection 53462-550.310(5), 535F.A.C., includes the following:

    539(a) Protection of wells from fecal contamination by appropriate placement and construction; (55240 C.F.R. §141.63(e)(1) 555revised as of July 1, 2014.) This paragraph shall be effective on July 7, 2015.

    570(b) Maintenance of a disinfectant residual throughout the distribution system;

    580(c) Proper maintenance of the distribution system including appropriate pipe replacement and repair procedures, main flushing programs, proper operation and maintenance of storage tanks and reservoirs, cross-connection control, and continual maintenance of positive water pressure in all parts of the distribution system; (62340 C.F.R. §141.63(e)(3) 626revised as of July 1, 2014.) This paragraph shall be effective on July 7, 2015.

    641(d) Filtration or disinfection of surface water, as described in 65140 C.F.R. Part 141, 655Subparts H, P, T, and W, as incorporated in subsections 66562-550.817(1), 666(2), (3), and (4), F.A.C., or disinfection of ground water, as described in 67940 C.F.R. Part 141, 683Subpart S, as incorporated in Rule 68962-550.828, 690F.A.C., using strong oxidants such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide, or ozone; and (70340 C.F.R. §141.63(e)(4) 706revised as of July 1, 2014.) This paragraph shall be effective on July 7, 2015.

    721(e) For systems using ground water, compliance with the requirements of an Environmental Protection Agency-approved State Wellhead Protection Program developed and implemented under Section 1428 of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. (75440 C.F.R. §141.63(e)(5) 757revised as of July 1, 2014.) This paragraph shall be effective on July 7, 2015.

    772(9) The technologies listed in Table 7784 are Best Available Technology for achieving compliance with the maximum contaminant levels for radionuclides listed in subsection 79662-550.310(6), 797F.A.C.
