64B12-10. Standard Of Practice For Licensed Opticians |
1The technical fitting of contact lenses is embraced in the field of optical dispensing.
15(1) A licensed optician may fill, fit, adapt or dispense soft contact lenses, extended wear contact lenses or hard contact lenses only to the extent authorized and under the supervision of the prescribing medical doctor or optometrist.
52(2) A licensed optitician who has been certified by the Board pursuant to Rule Chapter 64B12-14, F.A.C., may fill, fit, adapt or dispense prescribed soft contact lenses so long as the requirements and standards of practice set forth in Rule Chapter 64B12-14, F.A.C., and the equipment requirements set forth in Rule 10364B12-10.007, 104F.A.C., are met.
