64B21-500. Application Requirements |
1(1) For the purposes of Section 7490.005(2), F.S., 9a program of study primarily psychological in nature shall be defined as a program in which the majority of courses are in social, behavioral, and psychological sciences.
36(2) An equivalent degree shall be defined as a master’s or higher degree in a program primarily psychological in nature with coursework totaling sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter hours in areas relevant to school psychology consisting of the following:
77(a) Nine (9) semester or twelve (12) quarter hours in Psychological Foundations, consisting of courses from the following concentrations:
961. Human Development
992. Human Learning
1023. Psychology of Personality
1064. Child or Adolescent Psychology
1115. Educational Psychology
1146. Human Exceptionality
1177. Abnormal Psychology

121(b) Six (6) semester or nine (9) quarter hours in Educational Foundations, consisting of courses from the following concentrations:
1401. The Role and Function of School Psychologists
1482. Curriculum in the Schools
1533. Purposes and Organization of Schools
1594. Educational Administration
1625. Remedial Instruction Techniques
1666. Special Education
1697. Social Foundations of Education
1748. Social Psychology

178(c) Nine (9) semester or twelve (12) quarter hours in Psycho-Educational Evaluation Methods to include at least one course in individual intellectual assessment and courses from the following concentrations:
2071. Psycho-Educational Assessment
2102. Statistics and Research Design
2153. Tests and Measurement

220(d) Nine (9) semester or twelve (12) quarter hours in Psycho-Educational Interventions, consisting of courses from the following concentrations:
2391. Consultation
2412. Behavior Modification
2443. Counseling and Interviewing Techniques
2494. Organization and Administration of Pupil Services
256(3) For licensure by examination, applicants must submit evidence of completion of a supervised practicum, an internship, or field experience in a setting which requires counseling and other school psychology skills.
