64B6-2.003. Licensure by Examination

  • 1Any person desiring to be licensed as a hearing aid specialist shall apply to the Department at least one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the date the examination is to be administered, 34and by completing the Hearing Aid Specialist Application for Examination on Form DH-MQA 1155 (Revised 7/2023) hereby adopted and incorporated by reference, which can be obtained from 61http://www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference.asp?No=Ref-15948, 63the Board of Hearing Aid Specialists’ website at 71http://floridashearingaidspecialists.gov/applications/app-licensure-examination.pdf72. As a condition of licensure by examination, the following shall be completed;

    85(1) Has satisfied requirements as outlined in Section 93484.045, F.S. 95Licensure by Examination, and

    99(2) Has submitted proof of completion of a two-hour course relating to Florida Laws and Rules taught by an instructor approved by the Board or its designee and shall include the following subject areas: Chapter 484, Part II F.S., Chapter 456, F.S., and Division 64B6, F.A.C., and

    146(3) 147Shall satisfy the examination requirement 152designated by the Board 156by completing one of the following162:

    163(a) The International Licensing Examination (I.L.E.) for Hearing Healthcare Professionals developed by the Intertnational Hearing Society, or

    180(b) The National Competency Examination (N.C.E.) from the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS).
