64E-5.609. Visiting Authorized User, Visiting Authorized Medical Physicist, or Visiting RSO

  • 1(1) A licensee may permit any visiting authorized user to use licensed material for medical use under the terms of the licensee’s license for 60 days each year if:

    30(a) The licensee has a copy of a license issued by the department, the NRC, or an agreement state that identifies the visiting authorized user by name as an authorized user for medical use; and

    65(b) The visiting authorized user performs only those procedures for which he is specifically authorized by the license described in paragraph 8664E-5.609(1)(a), 87F.A.C., above.

    89(2) 90For up to 60 days each year, a licensee may permit an authorized medical physicist or an individual qualified under Rules 11164E-5.656 112and 11364E-5.658, 114F.A.C., to function as a visiting authorized medical physicist as authorized by the license.

    128(3) For up to 60 days each year, a licensee may permit an authorized user or an individual qualified to be a RSO, under Rules 15364E-5.648 154and 15564E-5.658, 156F.A.C., to function as a visiting RSO and to perform the functions of a RSO, as provided in Rule 17564E-5.605 176and subsection 17864E-5.607(1), 179F.A.C.

    180(4) A license amendment is not needed to permit a visiting authorized user, visiting authorized medical physicist, or visiting RSO to use licensed material or perform functions in accordance with this section.

    212(5) The visiting authorized user, visiting authorized medical physicist, or visiting RSO shall have the prior written permission of the licensee’s management and, if the use or function occurs on behalf of a medical institution, the institution’s radiation safety committee.

    252(6) Licensee records shall include a copy of the record described in Rule 26564E-5.657, 266F.A.C., or some other form of documentation that verifies the individual has met the respective training and experience requirements listed in Subpart I. A licensee shall retain copies of the records specified in Rule 30064E-5.609, 301F.A.C., for 3 years after the last visit.
