68A-6.0172. Record Keeping and Reporting Requirements for Venomous Reptiles and Reptiles of Concern

  • 1Any person who possesses any live venomous reptile or reptile of concern shall have a permit issued in accordance with Section 22379.372, 23and if applicable, Section 27379.3761, F.S., 29and comply with Section 33379.304, F.S., 35and the provisions of this rule, Rules 68A-6.017 and 6.0171, F.A.C.

    46(1) Record Keeping:

    49Possessors shall maintain an accurate record of all changes in inventory of any venomous reptiles or reptiles of concern, which shall be maintained on the licensed premises and shall be open to inspection upon request by Commission personnel. Such records shall include the following:

    93(a) Records of births and deaths, which shall include the following:

    1041. Date of the birth or death; and

    1122. Quantity and species of each birth or death. For the purposes of this section “birth” shall be defined as the initial hatch or live birth date for the clutch.

    142(b) Records of acquisition, which shall include the following:

    1511. Date of acquisition;

    1552. Quantity and species of reptiles acquired;

    1623. Method of identification and unique passive integrated transponder (PIT tag) number, if applicable, for each specimen;

    1794. Name and complete address of supplier; and

    1875. License identification number of supplier where applicable.

    195(c) Records of sale or transfer, which shall include the following:

    2061. Date of sale or transfer;

    2122. Quantity and species of reptiles sold or transferred;

    2213. Method of identification and unique passive integrated transponder (PIT tag) number, if applicable, of each specimen sold or transferred; and

    2424. License identification number of the recipient where applicable.

    251(2) Reporting:

    253(a) Persons exhibiting or selling live venomous reptiles or reptiles of concern in accordance with Section 269379.372 270or 271379.3761, F.S., 273shall submit a report including quantity of births, deaths, in-state acquisitions, out-of-state acquisitions, in-state sales or transfers, and out-of-state sales or transfers of both native and non-native venomous reptiles, per biological family, and reptiles of concern, per species. Such report shall be submitted to the Commission 319online through http://www.GoOutdoorsFlorida.com 322upon annual renewal of license and six months thereafter. The reporting period shall span the six months preceding the reporting date.

    343(b) Persons possessing any live venomous reptile or reptile of concern in accordance with Section 358379.372, F.S., 360for personal use shall submit a report including quantity of births, deaths, in-state acquisitions, out-of-state acquisitions, in-state sales or transfers, and out-of-state sales or transfers of both native and non-native venomous reptiles, per biological family, and reptiles of concern, per species. Such report shall be submitted to the Commission 409online through http://www.GoOutdoorsFlorida.com 412upon annual renewal of license and upon any instance of inventory change. The reporting period shall span the six months preceding the reporting date.

    436(c) Persons operating in accordance with subsection 44368A-6.003(7), 444F.A.C., are exempt from these reporting requirements.
