69A-51.045. Existing and New Boiler Installations in Public Assembly Locations; Exemptions

  • 1(1) The provisions of 5Rules 669A-51.045 7and 869A-51.050, 9F.A.C., 10apply to existing and new installations of boilers in public assembly locations.

    22(2) Existing installations are those boilers installed in public assembly locations before October 1, 1987.

    37(3) For existing installations:

    41(a) The maximum allowable working pressure of a boiler carrying the ASME Code symbol stamp must be determined by the applicable sections of the ASME Code, 67which is incorporated by reference in Rule 7469A-51.010, 75F.A.C., 76under which it was constructed and stamped.

    83(b) The maximum allowable working pressure of a boiler that does not carry the ASME Code symbol must be computed in accordance with the National Board Inspection Code, which is incorporated by reference in Rule 11869A-51.010, 119F.A.C.

    120(4) New installations are those boilers installed in public assembly locations after September 30, 1987.

    135(5) No boiler shall be installed in a public assembly location in this state unless it has been constructed, inspected, and stamped in conformity with the ASME Code, which is incorporated by reference in Rule 17069A-51.010, 171F.A.C., except:

    173(a) Those exempted by the Act; or

    180(b) Boilers which are federally owned and federally inspected; or

    190(c) Coil type hot water boilers meet the requirements of Part PG-2.3, Section I of the ASME Code, which is incorporated by reference in Rule 21569A-51.010, 216F.A.C.; or

    218(d) Those potable water heaters exempted by Part HLW-101, Service Limits, Section IV of the ASME Code 235which is incorporated by reference in Rule 24269A-51.010, 243F.A.C.
