59A-9. Abortion Clinics |
1Each abortion clinic which is providing second trimester abortions shall comply with the following post procedure follow-up care requirements when providing a second trimester abortion.
26(1) The clinic shall offer a post-abortion medical visit that includes a medical examination and a review of the results of all laboratory tests.
50(2) A urine pregnancy test will be obtained at the time of the follow-up visit to rule out continuing pregnancy. If a continuing pregnancy is suspected, the patient shall be evaluated and a physician who performs abortions shall be consulted.
90(3) The clinic shall provide for the education of the patient in post procedure care, including specific instructions in case of emergency.
