68E-27. The Seafood Quality Control Code |
1(1) Primary or secondary production plants shall be designed and equipped to provide sufficient space for sanitary handling of seafood products and thorough cleaning of all plant components.
29(2) Floors – The floor surfaces in seafood production, packing and storage rooms and all rooms and areas where equipment and utensils are washed shall be constructed of smooth concrete or other impervious material. Such floors shall be free of cracks, holes or uneven surfaces and shall be graded not less than one-quarter (1/4) inch to one (1) foot to effectively drain. Sufficient drains, gutters, gratings and sewers shall be provided to insure prompt and proper removal of waste liquids and water in accordance with provisions of the Sanitary Code of Florida, Chapter 64E-11, F.A.C. All floors shall be kept clean and in good repair.
134(3) Packaging materials – All containers and other packaging materials or primary or secondary production, when necessary, shall be thoroughly washed prior to use by water under pressure.
162(4) Living quarters – None of the operations connected with a primary or secondary production plant shall be conducted in any room used as living or sleeping quarters. There shall be no direct opening between living quarters and a primary or secondary production plant.
206(5) Animals – No dogs, cats or other pets shall be permitted in primary or secondary production plants.
