14-51.020Supplemental Guide Signs

The Florida Department of Transportation hereby gives notice:

That on October 10, 2017, the Department entered an Order Granting Variance from Rule 14-51.020, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). On August 21, 2017, the Department received a petition for waiver/variance from the provisions of Chapter 14-51, F.A.C., regarding directional signage on roads. Kling VA Clinic in Sunrise, Florida, requests directional signage on Department roads. The Department granted the variance because the Kling Clinic demonstrated that a literal application of Rule 14-51.020, F.A.C., to prohibit signage to its facility would violate principles of fairness as it serves the community in a manner similar to a hospital facility. In addition, the Department will erect directional signs to the Kling Clinic at the north and south exits of the Sawgrass Expressway at Commercial Boulevard.
