NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Architecture and Interior Design has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by T.A. Krebs, Architect, Inc. on November 27, 2001. The following is a summary of the agency’s disposition of the petition:

The following is a summary of the agency’s disposition of the petition. The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Volume 28, No. 14, of the April 5, 2002, Florida Administrative Weekly. The petition seeks the Board’s interpretation of Section 481.221(1)(a), Florida Statutes (2000), and asks whether petitioner would be in compliance with that section if he were to seal residential plans that were not prepared or modified either by himself or under his responsible supervising control, after finding them to be in compliance with Section 1606 of the 1997 Standard Building Code for the 110 m.p.h. wind zone and first applying a stamp which states, “These plans are in compliance with Section 1606 of the 1997 Standard Building Code for the 110 m.p.h. wind zone. The undersigned has only reviewed these plans and only for Section 16.06 compliance.” The Board considered the petition at its meeting held on May 8, 2002, in Jacksonville, Florida. The Board’s Order, filed on January 24, 2014, answered the question in the affirmative, stating that sealing plans qualified by words as listed in the petition, does not constitute a violation of Section 481.221(4), Florida Statutes (2000).
