The Florida Department of Transportation, District 2 announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: February 23, 2017, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

PLACE: Orange Park Town Hall, 2041 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This meeting is being held to afford interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, social, economic and environmental effects of Financial Project ID: 435575-1, otherwise known as I-295 at US 17 Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study for proposed widening and reconstruction of US 17 (SR 15) from Collins Road in Duval County to south of Wells Road Intersection in Clay County. Additional improvements include ramp and intersection improvements at US 17 and the I-295 off ramps, Eldridge Avenue, Old Orange Park Road, and Wells Road. Traffic operations within the project study area show excessive delay and heavy queuing at the intersections along US 17 during peak hours as well as at the on and off-ramps to I-295. With expectations of continued traffic operation issues, this PD&E study is investigating alternatives to meet capacity needs, intersection operations, and safety within the study area. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or family status. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
