    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 15, 2024, the Department of Children and Families, received a petition for variance from paragraph 65C-46.004(3)(f), Florida Administrative Code, from Connell Spain on behalf of the S.T.A.R. House. Paragraph 65C-46.004(3)(f) requires, in pertinent part, bedrooms to have 50 square feet for the initial occupant and an additional 50 square feet for each additional occupant, and a ceiling height of at least 7 feet, 6 inches. Programs established prior to July 1, 1987, may utilize dormitory style bedrooms, but new construction or facilities applying for initial licensure must comply with the size and occupancy requirements.
