    Mathematical Sciences Building Renovation

    NOTICE TO ENGINEERS

    The University of Central Florida, on behalf of its Board of Trustees, announces that services in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services with an emphasis on mechanical engineering will be required for the project listed below:

    Project No. UCF-#552 Mathematical Sciences Building Renovation

    Project and Location: Mathematical Sciences Building, University of Central Florida, Main Campus, 4393 Andromeda Loop North, Orlando, Florida 32816.

    The project consists of a renovation of the existing Mathematical Sciences Building, which is forty-four years old. The building comprises five stories and 106,523 gross square feet. The renovation will include modifications to the major building systems to meet current occupancy and life safety codes.

    The total project cost will be approximately $3,800,000, which the state has currently appropriated. This project is subject to the availability of funding.

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Carefully review the Architect/Engineer Contract and General Conditions documents. Submitting a proposal for this project constitutes complete agreement with and acceptance of, the terms and conditions contained within these documents. These documents can be found with the advertisement on our website at www.fp.ucf.edu.

    Architect/Engineers desiring to provide engineering services shall submit five (5) bound copies of proposals, comprising:

    1. A letter of interest

    2. The most recent version of the Florida Board of Education Professional Qualifications Supplement (PQS) dated 5/14, completed by the applicant. Do not alter the PQS form.

    3. A copy of the firm’s current Professional Registration Certificates from the appropriate governing board. An applicant must be properly registered at the time of application to practice its profession in the State of Florida. If the applicant is a corporation, it must be chartered by the Florida Department of State to operate in Florida.

    4. A list of completed jobs over the last three (3) years, with contract value, contact name, and telephone number.

    5. Narratives to address items listed in the Selection Criteria, as shown on the Project Fact Sheet

    6. A narrative addressing the contractor’s practices related to E-verification, criminal background checks, drug free workplace, and drug and alcohol testing.

    Proposals must not exceed 40 pages.

    Applications which do not comply with the above instructions will not be considered. Application materials will not be returned.

    No oral communications shall be binding as a change to the Notice. Interpretation of the wording of this Notice shall be solely that of UCF and that interpretation shall be final. UCF may respond to questions deemed by the University to be material in nature.

    It shall remain the responsibility of the firms participating in this solicitation to check the website regarding any addendums and Notice of Change.

    The plans and specifications for the Florida Board of Education projects are subject to reuse in accordance with the provisions of Section 287.055, Florida Statutes.

    As required by University of Central Florida Regulations 7.102.22, a contractor may not submit a proposal for this project if it is on the convicted vendor list for a public entity crime committed within the past thirty six (36) months. The selected contractor must warrant that it will neither utilize the services of, nor contract with, any supplier, subcontractor, or contractor in excess of $15,000.00 in connection with this project for a period of thirty six (36) months from the date of their being placed on the convicted vendor list.

    The five (5) bound copies of the required proposal data shall be submitted to: Mrs. Gina Seabrook, University of Central Florida, 3528 North Perseus Loop, Building 16, Orlando, FL 32816-3020. Submittals must be received by 5:00 p.m. local time July 8, 2014. Facsimile (FAX) submittals are not acceptable and will not be considered. Late submissions or additional documention will not be accepted.
