The Board of Optometry hereby gives notice that on June 5, 2017, a Notice of Intent to Deny Petition for Waiver and Variance was filed. The Petition for Waiver or Variance was filed by Rebecca Jacquemin, O.D., on April 28, 2017, seeking a waiver or variance from Rule 64B13-4.001, F.A.C., regarding the requirement that all four (4) parts of the licensure examination must have been passed within the seven (7) year period immediately preceding application for licensure. The Notice was published in Volume 43, No. 85, of the Florida Administrative Register, on May 2, 2017. The Board, at its meeting held on May 19, 2017, voted to deny the Petition for Waiver or Variance finding that the Petitioner did not demonstrate a substantial hardship; that application of the rule did not violate the principles of fairness; and that the purpose of the underlying statute was not met.
