SUMMARY: The rule sets forth the provisions for the Retailer WEEK FOR LIFE Book Settlement Promotion.

THE FULL TEXT OF THE EMERGENCY RULE IS:

 

53ER15-37 Retailer WEEK FOR LIFE Book Settlement Promotion.

(1) Beginning Tuesday, June 16, 2015, through Tuesday, June 30, 2015,  the Florida Lottery will conduct the Retailer WEEK FOR LIFE Book Settlement Promotion (“Promotion”) in which Florida Lottery retailers will have a chance to win $30,000. 

(2) Florida Lottery retailers will receive one entry into one of two drawings determined by retailer category (corporate or independent), for each new “WEEK FOR LIFE” full book of scratch-off lottery tickets settled before midnight ET on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.  The WEEK FOR LIFE games included in this Promotion are: Game Number 1276, $500 A WEEK FOR LIFE; Game Number 1277, $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE; Game Number 1278, $2,500 A WEEK FOR LIFE; and Game Number 1279, $5,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE.

(3) Two $30,000 prizes will be awarded in accordance with the following table.

(4) The drawings will be held on July 9, 2015.  In each of the two drawings, five entries will be randomly drawn by the Florida Lottery using a certified random number generation process. The first valid entry drawn will win the prize of $30,000. The second through fifth valid entries drawn will be used in the order in which they are drawn to select an alternate winner in the event a retailer winner is disqualified.

(5) To be included in the Promotion, retailers must be active Florida Lottery retailers prior to June 16, 2015.

(6) A Retailer will be subject to disqualification from the drawing if the Florida Lottery determines that the entry is invalid because the retailer settled one or more of the qualifying books of tickets during the promotion period and subsequently unsettled such qualifying book or books of tickets any time up to and including July 8, 2015.

(7) Retailers will receive their Promotion prize check within approximately three weeks of the drawing.

(8) Retailers whose Florida Lottery contracts are terminated or inactivated prior to the promotional prize award shall be paid the promotional prize provided the termination or inactivation was not due to non-compliance with Florida Lottery laws, rules or terms of the retailer contract.

(9) Winning retailers will not be permitted to return or unsettle WEEK FOR LIFE books of tickets except as determined by the Lottery for occurrences such as a change of ownership, or suspension or termination of retailer contract.

(10) A promotional prize will be considered compensation to the retailer for Internal Revenue Service purposes. The Florida Lottery reserves the right to apply the promotional prize awarded against a retailer’s outstanding debt to the Florida Lottery.
