    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Construction Industry Licensing Board has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by Ricki Moran on February 19, 2014. The following is a summary of the agency's disposition of the petition:

    The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Vol. 40, No. 41, of the February 28, 2014, Florida Administrative Register. The petition seeks a declaratory statement from the Board as to whether a "Building Contractor" as defined in Section 489.105(3)(b), Florida Statutes, may erect a brand new building. The Board’s Order, filed on May 23, 2014, issues a declaratory statement that the definition of "building contractor" in Section 489.105(3)(b), Florida Statutes, includes the ability to construct new buildings as described in the Petitioner's request for a declaratory statement.
