NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 17, 2014, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, received a petition for a temporary 180 day waiver of subsection 11B-27.002(4), F.A.C. from Kyle Durkin. Petitioner wishes to temporarily waive that portion of the rule that states within four years of the beginning date of a Commission-approved Basic Recruit Training Program, an individual shall successfully complete the program, achieve a passing score on the applicable State Officer Certification Examination, and gain employment as an officer. Petitioner states that his State Officer Certification will expire on June 22, 2014. Petitioner states that he has been in the testing, screening and background evaluation process for a position with the Tampa International Airport Police Department since December 2013 however, that process has been slowed due to an internal agency evaluation. Petitioner also states that he is being considered for a position with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and the Tampa Police Department.
