Board of Massage Therapy

The Board of Massage Therapy hereby gives notice of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Variance or Waiver, filed March 27, 2013, by Joann Marie Hopkins. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 39, No. 78, of the April 22, 2013, Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a waiver or variance of Rule 64B7-32.002, F.A.C.; the Petitioner sought a waiver of the requirement that an official transcript be submitted from the educational institution attended by the applicant. The Board considered the instant Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on June 12, 2013, by telephone conference call.

The Board’s Order, filed on August 22, 2013, granted the petition on the following grounds:

1. The petition was in substantial compliance with the provisions of Section 120.543, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 28-104, Florida Administrative Code.

2. The Board found that the applicant had met the purpose of the underlying statute.
