    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Department of Financial Services has received the petition for declaratory statement from William Harrison, Fire Marshal, Clermont Fire Department, on July 26, 2013.The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of Section 633.082, Florida Statutes, as it applies to the petitioner.

    The petition seeks the agency’s opinion as to whether the intent of Section 633.082, Florida Statutes, is that private fire hydrants be tested by a licensed contractor; whether this statute allows county, municipal, and special district utilities to perform tests instead of a certificate holder; and whether a city can choose to apply for a contractor’s license in order to allow city employees to test private fire hydrants in lieu of testing by a private licensed contractor.
