The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a Public Kick-Off Meeting for the Clearlake Road (SR 501) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study in Brevard County, Florida (FPID: 433605-1-22-01). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the need to widen Clearlake Road from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. We will also evaluate the need to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety throughout the corridor. The need for these evaluations is based on a projected increase in traffic volume. The study limits extend from south of Michigan Avenue to west of Industry Road, a distance of approximately 1.35 miles. Participants may review study information and discuss the study with FDOT staff at any time during the meeting; there will be no formal presentation. This meeting provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the social, natural, cultural and physical impacts of the proposed improvements. You are invited to visit the study website at www.clearlakeroadstudy.com. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Jazlyn Heywood at 386-943-5388 at least 7 days before the meeting.
