64E-5.1115. Subsurface Tracer Studies

  • 1(1) Protective gloves and other appropriate protective clothing and equipment shall be used by all personnel handling radioactive material. Precautions shall be taken to avoid ingestion or inhalation of radioactive material.

    32(2) No licensee shall intentionally inject radioactive material into any fresh water aquifers unless the Department of Health and the Department of Environmental Protection determine that such injection will not endanger the public health, safety and welfare.

    69(3) No licensee shall inject radioactive material into any well unless it can be demonstrated to the Department that the procedure will not result in any liquids or gases distributed to the public exceeding the following criteria:

    106(a) For gases, the air concentration in State of Florida Bureau of Radiation Control ALIs, DACs, and Effluent Concentrations, June 2012, 127(see 12864E-5.101, 129F.A.C.) 130Table II, Column 1, shall apply.

    136(b) For liquids, the water concentration values in State of Florida Bureau of Radiation Control ALIs, DACs, and Effluent Concentrations, June 2012, Table II, Column 2, shall apply.
